I did find it beneficial I like learning about new ways to meditate and this was a new practice in which I can implement. I would recommend it to others but not to people beginning I think theirs to much to focus on especially when talking about your enemies I would recommend one that involves clearing the mind and focusing on self-first.

Mental workouts provide a way for you to be able to strengthen your mental ability and also relieving stress by focusing on breathing and clearing your mind of stress and outside stimuli. Mental workouts can improve physical and mental health and can also help with memory recall, focusing, and healing. You can implement this by finding time through your day where you can get away from distractions and can be in a silent place and use these mental workouts to help you mental health.

  1. Hi Eric,
I would agree that the extension of loving-kindness to enemies is very difficult and is probably not something that new practitioners could accomplish with ease. I think it good to slowly work into that, taking the meditation in steps over a long period of time, until you can achieve that final step.

  2. Eric,

Great job!! I enjoy this exercise as well. This is a great stress reliever and and in some cases may even increase memory due to less stress, which can often be a factor in memory loss.

  3. With these exercises, I am finding that I can sleep again! Yay, Also, I am learning that I can be rid of a migraine before it gets bad. Deep breathing, focusing on relaxing, and breathing, clearing my mind of chatter. These exercises are the best!
Great work on your post. I like both of these exercises equally. I learned so much from each one, and touching my spirit, my mind, and my body is feeling relaxed. Its a win win!
