It is important that
health and wellness professionals develop psychologically, spiritually, and
physically because these are all vital to overall health and if one of these is
no optimal then that person Is not truly healthy. The areas I need to develop are
psychologically being able to have the mental strength to prevent some of the
stress that I deal with on a daily basis that could easily be prevented if I
had a healthier mind set.
I have assed my health
in each category by having my wife help me in with how she has think I have
changed in each category since I have started this course and I gave her a 1-10
scale and asked her where she thought I was before I started this class then
where she thinks I am now. The numbers didn’t change drastically but they still
changed physically I was rated a 8 before and a 9.5 now, psychologically I was
a 6 now she rated me as a 8 since I still do allow things to stress me out
mentally. And spiritually I rated the same she gave me a 9 before and it stayed
at 9.
A goal I have in each
area would be physically I want to compete in a triathlon and I have been
considering this for many years but I have recently started to train for all of
the events each week. Psychologically my goal is to be able to have control
over my emotions and how they affect me and to not get angry with work stuff
and reduce the level of stress in my day to day life. Spiritually my goal is to
continue to grow in my spirituality and feel a closer connection with the
universe.
When it comes to
implanting exercises in these areas physically I would like to start with mini
triathlons and continue to grow in my yoga training. These areas of my physical
life will help me gain a new since of flexibility, strength, and endurance.
Psychologically I can implement more meditation and visual exercises these can
help me gain a new found since of mental health and mental strength.
Spiritually I can do community type of work and work out in the environment to
help implement a spiritual health.
When It comes to evaluating
where I am in six months I can use my wife again like I did in a previous
assessment this way I have an honest opinion on my progress and what I have
lacked in. For me to stay focused on achieving this long term I need to make
sure I continue to grow and have a positive outlook on the practice’s and my
growth.
